Hello!
Finally I entered the second year in the university. I have a weird feeling about it though. Time flew sooooo fast! It feels like yesterday that I got graduated from high school. Any ways, this semester was great! I do love it very much. There are a lot of things going on this semester.
Act as a Profesional Tour Conductor
This semester I have Guiding Theory & Practice class. From the name, we can tell it's about how to make a guiding for the client. Not only the theory that we got, but we have the chance to practice. This class was very interesting! I do love it, even though this class also took a lot of energy. There are two big project in this class, but I will split it into two different paragraph. The first project is making a city tour either Jakarta or Bogor as well be the guide of that city tour. We are divided into 3 groups. My group name is iVoyages (please, read it as voyages in French). iVoyages made the city tour to the old Jakarta or known as Old Batavia. We visited the old and historical buildings in Jakarta which located in the Kota Tua complex. The other city tour are Jakarta City Tour (Jakarta after independence) and Bogor City Tour. On each city tour, every one of us should do some guiding, since we had to practice it for our other big project. Not only about giving the material, but how we present it were also scored. Beside arranging this city tour, we were also asked to make a video about types of tour guide, on coach tours, and walking tours. It was really hard actually, especially when I have to do all the designs and editing, as well as giving out the guiding (materials). But, I was happy to learn all of it and got to experience it. This class really taught me a lot. Here are some pictures from those 3 city tours we had to join:

IBIKE- Ijen Bali IKonik Experience
Regarding the Guiding Theory & Practice class, this is the main project of this class. This is where our final exam for practical score was taken. We took our score in our field study to Bali. We had Java-Bali over land and fly. Basically, we drove off to Bali by bus and then coming back to Jakarta by plane. On our way to Bali, we have to give some guiding both in English and Bahasa. Before we go off shore to Bali from Java, we stopped at East Java, exactly at Probolinggo, where we went to see one of the most beautiful scenery in Indonesia, which is Ijen Crater. It was so BEAUTIFUL! We had to do some trekking and it was totally exhausting! But, when we saw the sunrise on the top of the mountain, we forgot all those exhaustiveness. I really recommended this place to visit, if any of you come to Indonesia. I will make a different post about my amazing 7 days trip for Java-Bali over land. When we reached Bali, we went to several attractions in Bali such as Mangrove Forest, Kehen Temple, Kusamba Village, and Panglipuran Village. Too bad we could not visit Uluwatu Temple. I was really hoping to go there someday. Well, if you recognize from the subtitle of this paragraph, IBIKE, actually it is one of the main event of this tour. We had to cycle around in a village in Bali. I should say that the cycling tour was AMAZINGLY FUN! I really liked it! We had missions to do that taught us about Balinese culture, how to cook Balinese traditional food, and much more. Not only fun, it also educational. My group won the best team!! This tour also one of the most memorable trip for me, personally, because not only the activities inside, or the experience i got, but I actively participated in preparing the tour. I was assigned to design the banner, name tag, luggage tag, and t-shirts. Also I was assigned to documented the trip. It was much to do, but actually I could accomplish it. Here are some pictures I took for this trip. Complete album will be posted soon!

Appreciate Your Culture
Right before going for Bali, I had an event to execute. It is the final exam for Event Management class. It was almost the same with MICE class on my 2nd semester. But, this time we were trained practically, rather than theory. This time we created a seminar about appreciating Indonesian culture, especially as the next generation of Indonesia. We invited 3 speakers to our seminar, and we sent out invitations to all universities in Indonesia to join this seminar. My job in this event is become the treasury. But, I was chosen to be the master ceremony of this event along with my friend, Dyllan. There are a lot of problem during the preparation, but thankfully on the execution day we could done it smoothly, like there is no problem ever occurred. Our teamwork and communication skills were tested here on this preparation. And it was a valuable lessons I've learned about my classmates and how to work in event organizing industry. Actually, I missed the hectic, panic, tense moments in arranging an event.

Well, this three main events pretty much summed up my fourth semester. It was amazing! I really learned a lot during those time. Much mistake were made, but it was part of learning. It may the most tiring semester ever, but the experience I got was incomparable! Thanks a lot to my classmates, lecturers, family, friends, and God mostly for the support given. I will cherish it forever.
xoxo,
Jennifer
